Jason E. Jenny, DDS

Dr. Jenny grew up in Shakopee, MN. Dr. Jenny has actively volunteered at the Union Gospel Mission dental clinic. He has also participated in the Donated Dental program and Give Kids a Smile. Dr. Jenny is past president of the Minnesota Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (MSOMS). Dr. Jenny currently resides in Lakeville with his wife and 5 children.

Michael J. Downie, DDS, MD

Dr. Downie was raised in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He then completed a one year internship in general surgery at Baylor University Medical Center and subsequently finished his 6 year oral and maxillo facial surgery residency at the Baylor College of Dentistry/Texas A&M University System in 2002. He joined Drs. Broude, Barthel, and Jenny in 2002 — the practice subsequently changed names in 2003 to become Twin Cities Oral and Maxillo facial Surgery. Professionally, his passion is excellence in dental implant surgery and bone grafting for his patients. In 2003 he started the Twin Cities implant society — a professional study club for referring dentists to focus on excellence in implant dentistry through high-quality continuing education. Dr. Downie is married and has three children. Personal interests include spending time with family and friends, playing the piano, trumpet and guitar as well as golfing.

Christopher E. Koehn, DDS

Dr. Koehn grew up in Moville, Iowa. He joined Drs. Jenny and Downie at Twin Cities Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2013. He actively volunteers at the Union Gospel Mission dental clinic and also at the Mission of Mercy. He has a passion towards continuing education and enjoys helping organize the Twin Cities Study Club. He and his wife, Merideth, and their three children reside in Minneapolis. He enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, and staying active.

Ketan Patel, PhD, DDS

Dr. Patel is currently the Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Hospital Dentistry at North Memorial Health. He is the Physician Lead of Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at North Memorial Health. In 2020, he joined the University of Minnesota as an adjunct faculty and serves as the site director at North Memorial Hospital where the senior residents rotate all year. Dr. Patel has authored several publications in various topics from head and neck cancer Surgery and Reconstructive Surgery, to molecular genetics of head and neck cancers and Sjogren’s syndrome. He also has contributed several chapters to multiple books considered the gold standard of our profession. He has lectured both nationally and internationally on several topics from benchtop research to sleep apnea, oncology, and microvascular reconstructive surgery. He currently works at North Memorial Hospital while maintaining a private practice at Twin Cities Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Matthew Yekikian, DDS, MD

Dr. Yekikian is skilled at all types of oral surgery but is particularly passionate about dentoalveolar surgery, bone and tissue grafting, implant surgery, oral pathology, and minor cosmetic procedures. Yet, what truly distinguishes him is his understanding and compassion for his patients. Dr. Yekikian ensures that each person he treats receives not only medical expertise but a personal touch that accelerates healing and delivers top-notch results. As a caring and enthusiastic surgeon, he forges strong connections with his patients, placing emphasis on respect, integrity, and trust. His ultimate goal is to ensure every patient has a comfortable, memorable, and positive experience under his care. On a personal note, Dr. Yekikian and Whitney share their home with two lively beagles, Lola and Buddy. Their life centers around family, game nights, staying active, and cheering for their favorite sports teams. Dr. Yekikian adds flavor to his life through culinary adventures, exploring new restaurants, and experimenting with enticing recipes. In essence, his story is one of skill, care, and a genuine love for life. He is thrilled to serve the community as the newest member of Twin Cities Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a locally-owned practice.
